Although the Dunk is now enjoying great success among the Skate community and sneaker enthusiasts, it actually got its start on university campuses. Let’s go back to 1985 when Nike released the Be True to Your School pack, in honor of the university teams of basketball!
The Nike Dunk High Varsity Maize with its yellow and black accents represents the Hawkeyes team. Its black leather base is enhanced by yellow overlays, especially on the lateral Swooshes. To elevate the look, there’s an old-school Nike branding at the top of the tongues.
An iconic
colorway on one of the hottest pairs right now, everything suggests that this reissue is highly anticipated by many fans at the end of the year! It’s worth noting that an ultra-exclusive iteration in collaboration with the Wu-Tang Clan in 1999, produced in only 36 pairs, made waves in the emerging sneakers culture of the time.
